Birmingham Press closes

without comments

The Birmingham Press announced today that it was ceasing to operate, with owner Chris Bullivant reportedly blaming predatory pricing by rivals.  Bullivant is thought to be considering referring the actions of Trinity Mirror, the owners of the Birmingham Post and Mail , to the Office of Fair Trading.  The weekly paper, which launched in April, was produced entirely by freelances working from home.  The paper was both sold and given away in and around Brimingham.
